I'm really glad I was able to hike the first 20-some miles of this trek. I hated to leave to return to work...

Among my favorite moments:

* Trying to guess the animal by the scat (poop) left on the trail.

* Finding bear tracks and waking up that first night to the sound of heavy breathing and seeing a lumbering shadow near my tent in the moonlight. Thank goodness Calum helped get our food up in bear bags by climbing that tree.

* Watching everyone cooking their meals Sunday evening. Very entertaining!

* Waking up that first brisk morning to see Mr. Gadsby's digital thermometer to read 21.4 degrees F.

* Getting bit by that Mattress Coil Snake...Arrgh!

* Seeing the sign pointing the way to the 88 Store, getting to the store, and enjoying the best pork BBQ ever. The ambiance of the store, with the hearth and fire was charming. Oh, yeah, and the sign there that said "Bikers Welcome". I SO wanted to swap the B with an H...

It was the best of times and the worst of times...

The 50 miler was very hard especially the last day, but the food made it worth it. Hanging out at the 88 store was my highlight.

Guys,
These photographs are really impressive.
I love the people shots (we need captions to some!) but my most favorite are 99,100, and 101. They are spectacular.
I know the trip was difficult but the pictures sure do make me want to do it, even the 16 degress photos.
Thank you for sharing your adventure with us!
