If you haven’t heard,
Mr. Dinsmore has been selected to serve on the planning committee for Council’s National Jamboree contingent in 2013. He’ll be serving with two other Scouts and one older youth to lead a troop of 36 Scouts to the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia in the summer of 2013. We’d love to see many of our Scouts attend. A flyer with basic information can be downloaded here.
We leave on July 12 and fly to Washington, D. C. for the weekend, then to West Virginia on Monday, July 15 for the first ever Jamboree at the new Summit Bechtel Reserve. Cost of the trip, which included transportation, food, lodging in DC and the Jamboree is $1,800. Admittedly, it’s not as economical as summer camp, but it’s a far greater experience. A series of payments due over the next year reduces the sting a bit. If you have any questions, please let me know. Note that slots in the contingent are reserved for Scouts. Several of our adult leaders have expressed interest in attending several days of the Jamboree as visitors and are planning a separate trip. If you’re interested, see Mr. Adams and Mr. Ginex.
