Troop 22 uses a software program called TroopMaster to maintain advancement records as well as scout/parent contact and medical information.  It has been an excellent tool, but it requires that the information be entered and maintained.  This past month, we have enabled our scout parents access to this system.  In addition to accessing  your son’s advancement records (including rank and merit badge progress), you’ll also be able to update personal information such as address, phone numbers, email address, doctor information, medications, and more.  This will provide the troop with more complete and accurate contact information and enable completion of Council reports and registration.

TroopKit

Troopkit is a separate web based application allowing scouts to organize and communicate.  Login and explore the many features of this tool.

From there, a scout can;

  • view and register for events such as camping trips
  • post meal plans for their patrol
  • see a roster of others in their troop by patrol with email links
  • schedule scoutmaster conferences and boards of review
  • check out merit badge books from the troop librarian
  • reserve cooking gear from the troop quartermaster

We meet every other week for a social time in an informal setting. These optional meetings are held on the second floor of the Magnolia Building, taking full advantage of the various games and activities there. If there is a need for an informal meeting to discuss an upcoming event, one of the classrooms can be employed for this purpose.  Here are the dates for our summer meetings:

Games Nights

  • June 13
  • July 11
  • Aug. 1
  • Aug. 8

Movie Night

On June 27, we will meet at the home of Sahaj and Saral Kumar, 86 Ladoga Avenue on Davis Islands. The Kumar have generously offered their home for this event. Hyde Park United Methodist will begin Vacation Bible School on that day and the entire campus will be used for that purpose. Please look for an eVite, coming shortly, to R.S.V.P. and let the Kumars know how many to plan for.

Magnolia Building Changes

During the summer months, the church will be renovating the first floor of the Magnolia Building in preparation for a new worship service that begins in September. Because of this construction, the ground floor will not be available for meetings and other events. The construction should be completed prior to resumption of our normal schedule and we will continue to use this space next year.

It’s going to be a great summer with many opportunities for Scout spirit and fun. Make sure you’re there!
